In July, 2000 the Aerospace Division of I.M.P. Group Limited was awarded a major contract by the Government of Canada for the In-Service Support (ISS) of the CH149 Cormorant Search and Rescue Helicopter. I.M.P. Aerospace, per the terms of this 7 year contract, is responsible for the provision and management of total maintenance, logistics and life-cycle engineering support for Canada's fleet of 15 Cormorant (EH101) aircraft. I.M.P. Aerospace will also provide on-site support at DND's Search & Rescue Squadrons located at Comox, BC; Gander, NF; Greenwood, NS; and Trenton, ON. The contract will be managed from I.M.P.'s Cormorant Support Center at the Halifax International Airport in Nova Scotia.
As prime contractor for CH149 In-Service Support, I.M.P. Aerospace will be responsible for total contractual performance, program management, direct engineering and maintenance functions. In support of its role, I.M.P. Aerospace has established sub-contracts with Honeywell Canada and Caterpillar Logistics for logistics support; Cougar Helicopters for maintenance support; and Tecsult Eduplus for maintenance training support.
