The I.M.P. Foundry Division located in Amherst, Nova Scotia, is a
manufacturer of grey iron castings for the waterworks construction industry
within Atlantic Canada. Utilizing an eight ton Cupola that is capable of
pouring 7 ton per hour, 90% of this facility's production is manhole frames
and covers, catchbasin frames and grates, and grey iron pipe fittings from
4" to 24" in diameter.
Although production at this plant is primarily municipal street castings,
other castings such as bollards and cleats for wharf construction are
produced ranging from 30 lbs to 1600 lbs. Chimney cleanouts, ash dumps,
woodstove parts, flue safes and decorative castings such as park bench ends
are manufactured at this facility.
