|Gilles Ouimet retired as Chairman of Pratt & Whitney Canada in May 2004, after a 27 year career in various senior positions. Previously, he held a number of engineering positions in the Canadian Forces and finance positions with Quebec Cartier Mining and Nortel Networks. |
Mr. Ouimet graduated in Engineering at the Royal Military College of Canada; obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Queen’s University and is a Certified Management Accountant. He has received Honory Doctorates from the Université de Montréal’s École Polytechnique and Concordia University. The Society of Management Accountants of Canada awarded him a Fellowship.
He is a member of the Technology Partnerships Canada Advisory Council, the Board of the Flight Safety Foundation and the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council on Science and Technology. He is also a member of the Board of the Foundation of the Montréal Science Centre, Chairman of the Fondation Pointe-à-Callière and Co-chairman of the Fondation Hôpital Charles LeMoyne 2002-2007 campaign.
