Kenneth C. Rowe


Kenneth C. Rowe founded IMP in 1967, and as Executive Chairman, he remains active in guiding and setting policy/vision for the Group.

In 1956, Mr. Rowe joined The Great Grimsby Coal Salt & Tanning Co. Ltd. which at that time was Europe’s largest manufacturer of commercial fishing equipment.  In 1964, Mr. Rowe was sent to Halifax as the managing director of their North American interests, which he left in 1967 to start IMP.
By profession he is fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and the Institute of Corporate Directors.  Mr. Rowe was appointed an Honorary Colonel by the Canadian Defence Department and, in 2002, was bestowed by Dalhousie University with an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree.

Mr. Rowe is past director of a number of public companies, which includes the Royal Bank of Canada, and the recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious Order of Canada.  He has been recognized as one of the top 50 CEO’s in Atlantic Canada and as one of Canada’s Outstanding Aerospace Visionaries.  He has also been inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame.

In 2004, he was named the Atlantic Region’s Outstanding Individual Philanthropist by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is well known for supporting organizations in the community such as Dalhousie University, the Red Cross, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia as well as local hospitals.  At Pier 21, you can attend events in the Kenneth C.
