Atlantica Hotel Halifax to unite modern amenities with traditional valuesHalifax, Nova Scotia, (May 25, 2009) – One of the best known hotels in the provincial capital has been renamed Atlantica Hotel Halifax.
IMP Group International Ltd. will own and operate the hotel, formerly the Holiday Inn Select Halifax City Centre, on the corner of Quinpool Road and Robie Street.
“This is an exciting opportunity for IMP to imprint our style on one of Halifax’s landmark hotels,” said Stephen Plummer, President and CEO, IMP Group International. “We will soon begin to make changes to the hotel to enhance our guest experience.”
For the past 35 years, IMP has owned the hotel. Recently the franchise agreement with Holiday Inn Select expired and the decision was made to rebrand as an independent hotel.
IMP Group International has been part of Nova Scotia’s hospitality industry for several decades as owner and operator of Oak Island Resort and Spa and CanJet Airlines and welcomes the opportunity to expand its role in the sector.
“An independent hotel provides many opportunities for us to customize our guest experience,” said Joe Gillivan, General Manager of the hotel for the past 14 years. “We look forward to reflecting Halifax in a modern, urban hotel experience and provide the traditional east coast values our guests expect.”
Atlantica Hotel Halifax has 232 guest rooms, 3 suites, more than 8,700 square feet of meeting space and is home to Seasons Bistro and Wine Bar.
