2011 Canada Games Receives Four-Star Sponsorship from Atlantica Hotel Halifax

27-May-2010

The Halifax 2011 Canada Games welcomes Atlantica Hotel Halifax as an official sponsor.

In addition to hosting a number of pre-Games meetings and events, the hotel will serve as the media centre and provide accommodations for various 2011 stakeholders during the Games.

Atlantica will be the presenting sponsor for the ticketing program. Tickets for all events and ceremonies will go on sale in Fall 2010.

The announcement was made at Atlantica’s 1st anniversary open house event that included tours of the hotel’s new executive level guest rooms.

"Atlantica Hotel Halifax is delighted to play such a significant role in the Games" said Aly Rehemtulla, General Manager of Atlantica. "Being situated across from the long track speed skating oval on the Commons and down the street from the wheelchair basketball and table tennis events taking place at Citadel High puts us at the centre of the Games action."

"The impressive level of commitment made by Atlantica demonstrates how instrumental our sponsors are in helping us deliver the Games,” said John Rogers, 2011 board member and marketing and sponsorship division chair.  “We are working to ensure that the hotel is at full capacity during a typically slow time of year for the hospitality industry.”

The 2011 Canada Games will raise $8 million from corporate sponsors. Sponsorship targets remain on track with over 60 per cent of funds raised or pledged. Sponsors are posted to canadagames2011.ca as they sign on.
