Stephen Plummer joined IMP Group International Inc. in 1978, immediately following his graduation from Dalhousie University. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. His 38-year career at IMP has taken him through several increasingly challenging positions to his current position of Group President and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Plummer serves on the Board of Directors of IMP Group International Inc. He is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the QEII Foundation; a past member of the Board of Directors of Vector Aerospace Corporation, Halifax Chamber of Commerce (Chair of the Board), United Way Halifax, and the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada; and a past member of the Board of Governors of the Halifax Grammar School.
Mr. Plummer has taught part-time at Saint Mary’s University, Mount Saint Vincent University, and Dalhousie University in both undergraduate and postgraduate business programs.
In 1998, Mr. Plummer was the inaugural recipient of Dalhousie University’s “Outstanding Achievement in Business” Award. He was chosen as one of Atlantic Business Magazine's Top 50 CEO's from 2009 - 2013, and was then inducted into the Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame. IMP Group has been selected as one of “Canada’s Best Managed Companies” for the last 13 consecutive years with the distinction of being a Platinum Club member for the past 7 years. IMP has also been recognized as one of “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” and in 2011, IMP was selected by the Financial Post as one of the “10 Best Companies to Work For” in Canada. For the last 6 consecutive years, IMP Group has been selected as one of "Atlantic Canada's Top 25 Employers," and "Nova Scotia's Top 15 Employers."
