Structural Engineering

Maintenance Engineering is a core competency of Aerospace Engineering, in support of aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul operations. Engineers analyze corrosion, cracking, and other structural defects, and develop unique repair schemes to restore the structural integrity of the airframe. Non-standard repair designs are often subject to Finite Element Modeling, Fatigue Analysis, and Damage Tolerance Analysis due to the criticality of the structure and/or the certification requirements of the customer.

Modification design and installation support also figure largely in our workload, as the company undertakes both minor modification projects and major upgrade programs to provide aircraft fleets with enhanced capabilities. Aircraft Testing, Weight & Balance measurement, and analysis capabilities are an integral part of this engineering service.

Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP)

Aerospace Engineering is a centre of excellence for the development and implementation of structural integrity programs for new and aging aircraft. We use both industry standard and proprietary software tools to develop and maintain:

  • ASIP Master Plans 
  • Operational Load Monitoring Programs
  • Durability and Damage Tolerance Analyses
  • Fatigue and Crack Growth Calculations
  • Individual Aircraft Tracking Programs
