"I.M.P. Awarded US Navy Aerospace Contract"

I.M.P. Group Limited, Aerospace Division has been awarded a substantial contract to provide maintenance support for US Navy P-3 Orion aircraft. This contract involves completing Special Structural Inspections (SSI) and maintenance support for these aircraft as part of the US Navy’s current fleet sustainment program. It is anticipated that this program will grow substantially over the coming months.

David Gossen, Executive Vice President, I.M.P. Aerospace, stated “This contract represents an important achievement for IMP which builds on our experience with the Canadian CP140 aircraft, our strong engineering knowledge on the P-3 platform and our excellent relationship with the US Navy on their H-3 Sea King Program”. Mr. Gossen stated that this work would be performed at Halifax International Airport.

The US Navy P-3 and Canadian Forces CP140 aircraft are similar long-range patrol aircraft built by Lockheed-Martin Aeronautics Corporation. IMP Aerospace has provided engineering and maintenance support on the CP140 program since its introduction to the Canadian Department of National Defence in 1984 and is an authorized Lockheed Martin P-3 Orion Service Center. IMP is also the Depot Maintenance facility for the US Navy H-3 Sea King aircraft as well as the Canadian Forces CH124 Sea King aircraft.
