Corporate Responsibility

Our Commitment to the Community

IMP Group cares about our local communities. We are very much involved in providing support to worthy causes, with a special focus in the areas of health and education. Our support comes in many forms. Whether it be through significant corporate donations, tireless fundraising from our employees or leadership on various Boards, the goal is always the same – to make a difference in our local communities. Some examples of IMP’s commitment include:

Dalhousie University – Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building

IMP Group helps foster future business leaders
IMP Group is proud to be an important contributor to Dalhousie University’s Without Borders Campaign for the construction of a new Faculty of Management building. IMP Group’s Executive Chairman, Ken Rowe, sees this as not only an investment in communities, but also in Canada’s future. Mr. Rowe is also a member of the Faculty of Management Board of Advisors.

IMP Community Volunteer Grant Program

Supporting organizations that matter to our employees
The IMP Community Volunteer Grant Programs provides a donation to charitable organizations where our employees volunteer their personal time. This program allows IMP to financially support the charitable organizations in communities where we conduct business and where our employees live.

Salvation Army - Operation: Building Hope

Disadvantaged Nova Scotians gain hope with IMP donation
Improving the lives of less fortunate community members has long been a priority for IMP Group. A recent significant contribution to the Salvation Army’s capital campaign, Operation: Building Hope, will continue this legacy by addressing infrastructure needs at the Booth Centre on Gottingen Street, the Spryfield Family Resource Centre, and Scotia Glen, a summer camp for kids in Pictou County.

IWK Hospital Foundation - It's About Family

Touching lives across the province
We are extremely pleased to have been able to help the IWK purchase a much needed MRI unit through a generous leadership donation. Throughout the years, IMP Group has also supported various initiatives at the IWK, including the donation of furniture for a 3rd floor waiting room.

QEII Hospital Foundation

Our healthcare division has committed to provide annual gifts of medical equipment and supplies to the hospital.

Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia

IMP Executive Chairman gives his time to developing young leaders
As a member of the Board of Governors, Ken Rowe, IMP Group Executive Chairman, provides leadership and direction to Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia, an organization that helps young people discover leadership, entrepreneurial and workforce readiness skills. Mr. Rowe and his companies also support various Junior Achievement initiatives throughout the year.

Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia

Giving back to help mentally ill community members
On behalf of its employees, IMP donated $150,000 to the Opening Minds Capital Campaign of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. This will allow the Foundation to build one of four transitional housing units through their Community Living Initiative. IMP also supports various other initiatives throughout the year.

IMP Contribution helps create a top-notch venue for celebrations and more
As a major contributor towards the initial campaign at Pier 21, Executive Chairman Kenneth C. Rowe is proud to have been involved in the creation of the Kenneth C. Rowe Heritage Hall in Pier 21. It is now a much used and much loved meeting space, dinner venue, and site for ceremonies and celebrations.
